How it works

Juries curate; crowds average.

The canon is over four thousand films from Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Locarno and the Academy — festival selections and prizes, not star ratings. Bundled with the app and read offline.

Ten-minute auditions.

Tonight's queue gives every film ten minutes, and tells you why it picked each one. Keep watching, or call it done sampling — that's the whole review, and it's what the engine learns from.

A reading, not a score.

Storytelling, direction, camera, theme, acting, music, the ending, social canvas, creativity, what stays with you. Ten dimensions become a shape.

Cards, addressed to one person.

Send your reading of a film to a friend. They score it blind, then both readings are revealed and you see exactly where you split. Like a chess game, not a broadcast — and over time you learn whose taste actually tracks yours.

What ciniq never does

no accountsYour identity is your device, and your handle comes from a closed vocabulary — never your real name.
no servers of oursRatings stay on your device and sync only through your own iCloud.
no analytics, ads, trackersNothing to collect, so nothing is collected.
no crowd scores anywhereThat is the point, not an omission.
a card link keeps its contentsThe reading rides after the “#”, which browsers never send to any server.
